Race Facts

Scotiabank Children's Challenge: 5 Peaks continues to promote family participation. Children up to 10 years of age are eligible for entry into the Scotiabank Children's Challenge. Each participant receives a kit, containing a number bib, pins, and some goodies from 5 Peaks. All participants receive a finisher's ribbon at the finish line. This years entry fee is $5. Registration is available online, and on race day morning. Don't miss this race day favorite!

Location: This 190-hectare naturalized park is situated in the river valley on the shore of the North Saskatchewan River.

Directions: Exit the Whitemud Freeway onto Terwillegar Drive. Turn west onto Rabbit Hill Road and follow it all the way down into Terwillegar Park (approx. 36 Avenue and 156 Street).

Terrain: Natural surface single track and double track trails over varying terrain, through bush and open parkland.
Elevation Gain: Sport Course: Total Elevation 1053 feet
Enduro Course: Total Elevation 1053 feet per lap
First Aid & Water Stations: 2 Water/Aid Stations(1 at start / finish area, and 1mid way through course). First Aid attendants at the Start/Finish area, at aid station and throughout course with radio communication. Course sweep will travel behind last racer.
Washrooms: Washroom facilities and outhouses available at Start / Finish area.
Parking: Plenty of parking
Important Notes: In the interest of racer safety and because of the size of our attendance and the technicality of our course, it’s dangerous! NONE OF THESE THINGS BELONG ON THE TRAIL DURING THE RACE.
-No dogs
-No headphones
-No strollers or baby joggers
-No nordic walking poles
Spectators: Spectators are welcome: best viewing from Start/Finish area.
Awards/Prizes: Awards ceremony will be held following completion of all competitors. (Approximately 11:00am). Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each age category in all distances, as well as top three male and female finishers overall.
All awards must be picked up at the race and will not be mailed.
